Chief Rochas Okorocha  Governor of Imo state and All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant, was in Asaba to woo APC delegates ahead of the party’s primaries.

Okorocha reiterated that “among all the presidential aspirants in the APC and President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP, I possess better performance credential.”

He urged APC faithful to put aside ethnic and religious sentiment in electing the presidential flag bearer of the party in the 2015. Okorocha said his performance as the governor of Imo State placed him far ahead of other aspirants.

Okorocha said: “I want to be president because I am convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that I can fix Nigeria.   I am not in this race for primitive accumulation of wealth, but for service.

Syria airstrikes kill 95 in ISIS stronghold, report says

 

 (CNN) -- At least 95 people have been killed and 120 injured in airstrikes by Syrian government forces on the northern city of Raqqa, a stronghold for the extremist group ISIS, a monitoring group said Wednesday.

The death toll from Tuesday's airstrikes is expected to rise because many people are critically injured, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Government warplanes carried out at least 10 airstrikes in Raqqa, targeting the city's al-Hani Mosque and the public souk, or market, the Observatory said. Its reports are based on information from a network of activists and residents on the ground in Syria.

Seven-year-old girl forces Tesco to remove 'stupid' sign suggesting superhero toys are just for boys

Tesco has been forced to remove a 'stupid' sign which suggested superheroes are only for boys after a 7-year-old girl complained.

Karen Cole was shopping with her daughter Maggie at the Tower Park branch of the supermarket in Poole, Dorset, when they saw an advert for a superhero clock captioned: "Fun gifts for boys."

She posted a picture of disgruntled Maggie, who is a fan of Batman, Superman, Spider Man, Wonder Woman and The Flash TV series, next to the sign with the message: “My superhero loving 7yo daughter not impressed when she spotted this sign in @Tesco today @LetToysBeToys."

The tweet, which Ms Cole has since deleted, has been retweeted over 10,000 times.
Ms Cole tagged in Let Toys Be Toys as the campaign group is asking the toy and publishing industries to stop limiting children's interests by promoting some toys and books as only suitable for girls or boys.
Maggie told her mum that Tesco were "being stupid" by using the sign.

"She spotted the sign before I did and pointed it out to me by indignantly saying something like, ‘Well that’s wrong! Anybody can like superheroes, they’re being stupid aren’t they’," Ms Cole told Buzzfeed News.
Ms Cole said that the more Maggie’s reading improves, the more she notices when products are being marketed towards girls or boys.

She added: "Fortunately it doesn’t seem to have put her off - as well as superheroes she loves Doctor Who, Minecraft, dragons, skeletons and zombies but also likes Frozen, princesses, kittens etc.
"She just thinks shops labelling toys for boys or girls is silly: ‘I can like what I want,' she said."
A Tesco spokesperson apologised and said that the sign will be removed from all of its stores.

Twins have defied odds of 150,000-1 to both become fathers on the SAME day, in the SAME hospital - and by the SAME midwife.

Stunned Jeromme and Jarrell Spence, both 21, have managed to beat the staggering odds to become the proud dads of bouncing baby boys.

The twins were initially shocked when told their partners had the same due date of November 26, but neither believed they would both be celebrating on that date.

But remarkably, the pair became fathers within a few hours of each other when their sons were born at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton in the early hours of Monday.
Incredibly, both babies were born in the same water pool in the same room and were delivered by the same midwife.

Jeromme's partner Tegan Compton, 19, was first to give birth when 8lb 7oz Cameron arrived into the world at 2.04am on Monday morning. Jarrell's girlfriend Francesca Ashe, 19, then followed suit when she delivered 7lb 11oz Cassen two-and-a-half hours later at 4.34am.

Jeromme, who works in a sports shop, said: "We knew that our partners were both given the same due date, but we just never expected the births to be really on the same day.
"Tegan and me came in first and little Cameron was born just a few hours later.
"Then the pool was washed and cleaned, and we handed over to Jarrell and Francesca."

Jarrell, who works for a catering firm, added: "We got here at about two in the morning and we could hear someone's voice and I said, 'that's Tegan'.

"Mum was with me so when Tegan gave birth she went over to see her grandson and then a couple of hours later she had another one.

"It is absolutely amazing that we became fathers of sons on the same day.

"It is great for everyone and everyone at the hospital was great."

Midwife Barbara Kapoor, who delivered both babies, said: "I have never ever heard of this happening before. It is amazing."

Alex Donohue, from Ladbrokes bookmakers, added: "This is so rare. The odds of it happening are at least 150,000 - 1."

Super uncle Ethan Tait is the toast of his family after fearlessly risking his life to save his niece and nephew from being run over by a bus.
The heroic teenager threw himself into the path of the moving bus in a double bid to save his family.
The brave 17-year-old student first grabbed three-year-old niece Ruby after she stepped into the road – and then pushed her twin brother Lennon out of the way after he had followed him into the road.
Ethan was fortunately unhurt despite taking the full force of the collision but little Lennon suffered injuries in the rescue, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.

  The death Of P-Square's Father  has been so  sudden that those who saw him a few hours before he slumped in the Omole, Ikeja, Lagos home of his sons are still surprised.

 From Encomium, It was revealed that just before Mazi Okoye’s tragic death, he was wearing only singlet and boxers, watching cable television (Africa Magic) with some visitors until about 10 pm yesterday (Monday, November 24, 2014) when he disengaged to his bedroom where he suddenly collapsed. 

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he unfortunately gave up before doctors attended to him. There are speculations that Pa Moses Okoye, who left Jos for Lagos two weeks ago for a knee surgery, might have died due to his frequent respiratory (breathing) issues. He was said to have had an appointment with his doctor yesterday (Tuesday, November 25, 2014) over his recent knee  surgery.

His wife, Josephine Okoye, died only two years ago after battling with cancer. Mazi Moses Okoye is survived by seveen children.

Mad Frankie Fraser dead: Notorious gangster dies in hospital aged 90 following leg surgery

Gangster Mad Frankie Fraser has died in hospital aged 90.
The notorious gangland enforcer, who spent 42 years in prison, fell critically ill after undergoing surgery on his left leg on Saturday.

His family took the decision to withdraw life support this morning after Fraser was placed into a medically-induced coma at the weekend. With his son Dave, 66, at his bedside, Fraser passed away this afternoon.
Fraser had been in Kings Hospital, in south London, where he underwent an operation on a fractured leg, believed to be an injury he had carried since the 1960s, on Friday.

A young mother was accidentally shot dead by her three-year-old son as she changed her one-year-old daughter’s nappy.
 According to Tulsa World, the “horrible, horrible accident,” happened when the toddler found the loaded semi-automatic handgun and fired a shot, hitting 26-year-old Christa Engles in the head at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Her mother and husband also live at the house in Tulsa, but neither was home at the time.
Engles' husband, a truck driver who was on the road, arrived home yesterday evening after hearing about the shooting and was only able to confirm his wife's death by repeatedly calling the hospital.

"The grandmother came in and supposedly found the two children covered in blood," a neighbour told a local television station. A Tulsa Police sergeant told NBC News that there was a lot of guns in the house.
The boy apparently found the "large-calibre" handgun under the sofa.
"We are prepared to do what we have to do to keep the kid safe - we think this is a a horrible, horrible accident," sergeant Dave Walker said.
